McCormick County Historic Sites
Dorn Mill Complex
The Dorn Mill complex includes a grist mill (listed on the National Register of Historical Places), cotton gin and weigh station. Unlike most mills, powered by water, the Dorn Mill Cotton Gin and Grist Mill were powered by steam engines.

Long Cane Church
Long Cane's origins date to 1771, when the church was established as an Associate Presbyterian congregation, one of several fostered before the American Revolution by Dr. Thomas Clark (d. 1792).

Ivy Plantation
House built by Dr. A. T. Wideman. It was constructed by Henry Jones of Atlanta during the same period he also worked on Eden Hall Plantation and nearby Long Cane Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
McCormick Gold Mine
In February 1852 William Burkhalter Dorn discovered the second richest vein of gold in South Carolina history on the land of his friend, Dr. John Wardlaw Hearst.

McCormick Courthouse
McCormick's historic, two-story Greek Revival style courthouse, located in the center of two, was designed by noted architect G. Lloyd Preacher of Augusta.

Farmer's Bank
The McCormick Messenger building, former Farmer’s Bank is a two-story frame and masonry building constructed ca. 1911. The storefront is composed of large frame and glass double doors, plate glass display windows and three-light transom.

McCormick Train Depot
The present one-story frame building is the third train depot in McCormick. This structure dates to 1911, following earlier depots built in 1882 and 1890.

Mount Carmel Historic District
Mount Carmel is a small town that developed in the 1880s, contemporary with the development of the Savannah Valley Railroad. The community was a flourishing village by the turn of the century.

Price's Mill
Resting on brick supports, this two-story pine frame building reflects its functional character and late nineteenth-century construction date (ca. 1890). The mill building is an unpretentious structure, making frank use of rough-hewn pine materials.
